THE Easter Egg Hunt of the Year!

Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have from our Easter Egg hunt. These are my three youngest kids, trying to keep themselves busy, WAITING for everyone to arrive. Haven't all of us (with kids) been there before? The countdown actually starts months before the event. By the time the event is a week away, the kids only talk about it 24/7. The morning of, kids actually get dressed (without being told), eat breakfast for real (instead of scarfing down all the Easter candy they keep hidden in their baskets in their rooms before their mom finds them) and happily do anything you ask them to do (because you threaten to cancel the event if they DON'T help!).
Unfortunately (or fortunately, if you're a "glass half-full" kind of person), a blizzard began within 10 minutes of our Easter get-together. With over 100 (yes, that's ONE HUNDRED) guests in our house, we headed out to our 11 acres to find the eggs before they were covered with four inches of snow. Oh, the wooden floors of our house afterwards! I brought the camera out with me, but with the snow actually falling/blowing HORIZONTALLY, I realized that there wasn't going to be much to a picture but WHITE. We actually had a ball with the whole thing, and I'm sure that all the kids will remember THIS Easter Egg hunt especially. Afterall, where else can you sing Jingle Bells on the back porch, in coats, hats and gloves, waiting to run for the eggs? Some kids even suggested we should pull out the sleds. And in case you didn't know, kids are amazing when they want something--slipping in the snow and yet still holding onto the all-precious egg...
