Coming Full Circle

When Mark was finishing up his sophomore year, he had a birthday party at our home. Ethan, not wanting to be the sole senior, invited his then-girlfriend, Jilli, and their friend, Randy (now Elder Hulet) to the party. As a gift, Jilli and Randy gave Mark a beautiful pitch pipe. The sentiment was not lost on me. All three of them had just finished a year of singing with Chamber Singers, the elite a capella singing group at the high school, and Mark had been one of a handfull of sophomores that had ever auditioned and been chosen to sing with the group.

Tonight, for the group's first performance of the school year, guess who was the "pitch pipe man"? Yes, Mark pulled out the same pitch pipe that had been given him by his "elders" two years previous, and carried on the proud tradition.

I just love it when things like that come full circle.
